Stop and assess the situation.
Make sure everyone is ok. Call 911 or seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Move your vehicle out of the way, if possible.
Exchange insurance information with the other driver.
If there are witnesses, get their contact information.
Take photos of all the cars involved in the accident. Be sure to include license plates.
Call your insurance adjuster and file a claim.
Don’t apologize. Apologies can be considered an admission of guilt and can be used against you in a court of law.
If there is a police report, get the report number.
Do not post about or discuss the accident on social media.
